NHSF Research Strategy Summit - 10 November, 18.00-20.30

On 10 November 2016 NHSF will hold a research strategy summit at Tolbooth, Stirling with the support of Historic Environment Scotland.

The summit will discuss priorities for future heritage science research, look at emerging topics of research interest and explore potential for collaboration. It will also review progress made in heritage science research since the publication of the National Heritage Science Strategy in 2010.

There will be three key speakers at the summit:

  • Professor Ian Simpson (University of Stirling), talking about interdisciplinary and collaborative research
  • Dr David Mitchell (Historic Environment Scotland), speaking on technical and scientific research and opportunities for public engagement
  • Nancy Bell (NHSF trustee) speaking about NHSF's 'Filling the Gaps' project to identify research carried out since the publication of the National Heritage Science Strategy.

Everyone is welcome at this free event. From 16.30 there will be the opportunity to view student posters and some of the portable equipment to be used in The Engine Shed, Historic Environment Scotland's new building conservation centre which is due to open shortly in Stirling.
The research summit will start at 18.00 and will be followed by a drinks reception until 20.30.
