Kit-Catalogue workshop

The NHSF Kit-Catalogue is an online database that holds information on equipment used for heritage science activities. The Forum maintains this database to facilitate the sharing of equipment (and expertise about equipment) amongst the heritage science community.

NHSF members can list equipment held at their organisation and provide information on the terms under which it could be accessed by other people.

The catalogue itself is publicly searchable and the Forum has provided a series of FAQs (for people who want to list kit as well as those who want to search the catalogue) and a checklist of things that people might want to think about when entering into an agreement to share equipment.

This workshop, on 30th April 2021, 13.30-15.00 will take place via Zoom and is for people at member organisations who are new to using the Kit-Catalogue or want a refresher. It will introduce the catalogue, why the Forum runs it, the benefits of listing kit, and how to add and maintain kit entries. If there is time, we can also discuss how we might introduce categories that would improve the search functions and make it easier to use the catalogue.

If you would like to take part, please email Caroline Peach administrator@heritagescienceforum.org.uk. Attendees will be sent login details for using the catalogue as an administrator, as well as a user manual in advance of the session.
