NHSF Conference Registration Now OPEN!

We are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for our first conference, to be held on Thursday 10 July 2025, at University College London. Join us to explore the role of heritage science research and innovation in addressing global challenges.

Focusing on 'what's next for heritage science', the conference will include presentations and panel discussions, exhibitors, workshops and opportunities to network.

The conference will explore three principle themes:

  1. The economic value of heritage science – How economists, policy-makers and heritage scientists are working together in emerging paradigms to assess the value of heritage.
  2. Towards sustainable historic buildings – How heritage science can help, in times of climate emergency, balance the needs of conservation and energy efficiency.
  3. Digital innovation in heritage science – How future heritage science will integrate digital twins, virtual reality and AI.

The conference will also include a welcoming and wide-ranging poster session, open to submissions from novel and interesting heritage science research at all stages of development. The poster session will showcase cutting-edge work and emerging trends that will shape the future of heritage science.

The interactive workshops will be:

  • Lifecycle assessment to measure the impact of heritage science
  • RICHeS: Empowering Conservation and Heritage Science through a Distributed Research Infrastructure
  • Speed Mentoring for Emerging Professionals

This conference is in-person only and bookings will remain open until 20 June 2025.
