Go Forth! Digital Learning Resources

In these resources the digital documentation from cutting-edge 3D laser-scanning technology has been used to create a series of teaching packages.

3-D digital documentation of the three Forth Bridges has been used a part of a new educational resource that is available to all Scottish schools to support the teaching of STEM subjects and the Curriculum for Excellence.

Background to the project, including its origins in the Scottish Ten digital documentation project (a partnership between Historic Environment Scotland and The Glasgow School of Art) is available on the Forth Bridges website. The learning resources are designed to inspire school pupils to take an interest in the Bridges, and to stimulate take-up in associated science and technology subjects.

The digital learning resources include a downloadable game-based learning activity (game and learning pack) which has been developed to educate school children about the construction of the historic Forth Bridge, Go Forth and Discover! Digital game.  Other resources include Go Forth and Design (taking on the role of engineer), Go Forth and Create (supporting computer science), and Go Forth, See and Hear (360 virtual reality experiences).
