Networking and support for heritage science students and ECRs

As part of British Science Week, we are hosting a meeting on Friday 5 March (17:30-19:00) for heritage science students and early career researchers to discuss their career development and networking needs.

AHRC Infrastructure Policy & Engagement Fellowships

AHRC is advertising three Infrastructure Policy & Engagement Fellowships to conduct collaborative research and scoping activities to inform the possible creation of an integrated national Heritage Science and Conservation Research infrastructure - closing date 19th February.

Our December member meeting will focus on how heritage science research relates to five proposed societal grand challenges. Members can join us for our online event on Thursday 10 December, 10:00-12:30.

AHRC's Infrastructure team would like to invite colleagues in ROs and IROs, including university collections, and the wider GLAM sector to attend one of two virtual town hall events: Wednesday 25 November 2020 - 1330-1500 Thursday 3 December 2020 - 1330-1500.

UCL Sustainable Heritage Bidecennial Conference 2021

The Bidecennial Conference will be held in the week commencing 22 March 2021 to mark 20 years of the UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage. The event will be organised in a hybrid format consisting of online sessions, workshops and roundtable discussions, and will be open to researchers and practitioners, industry and policy professionals.

Our latest newsletter contains the latest NHSF news, including a summary of our written representation to HM Treasury in advance of this year’s Comprehensive Spending Review, as well as the latest news and resources from our members. AHRC’s Capability for Collections Fund

Applications are now invited for AHRC's Capability for Collections Fund (CapCo). This new fund will support a series of 'targeted, capital investments to renew and upgrade research facilities within UK galleries, libraries, archives and museums, including university collections, focusing on conservation and heritage science facilities, digital capture equipment and specialist study spaces and reading rooms'.

Q&A Event: Potential New Funding Opportunities for Research & Innovation Infrastructure in Arts and Humanities

The AHRC Infrastructure team is inviting colleagues in IROs, university collections, and the wider GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) sector to attend a virtual information and Q&A session on Monday 10 August from 2-4pm.

National Museums Scotland joins NHSF

We were pleased to welcome National Museums Scotland as a new member of the Forum. The views and input of colleagues from NMS will strengthen the Forum as members work together around the three themes of the Strategic Framework ‘excellent research’, ‘a skilled and diverse heritage science community’ and ‘demonstrable socio-economic impact’.

April 2020's newsletter contains information on the Forum's response to COVID-19, the latest heritage science online events, policy news, funding calls, and PhD opportunities. It also includes information about the launch of IPERION HS, a consortium of 24 partners from 23 countries that will contribute to establishing a pan-European research infrastructure on heritage science.
